2. Not Professional Advice
My Plan Companion is not a law firm, an attorney, a financial advisor, an insurance advisor, a medical provider, or a funeral provider.
Information provided by the app is educational and organizational. It does not constitute individualized legal, financial, tax, insurance, medical, or other professional advice. For advice specific to your situation, please consult a qualified professional.
3. Not a Legal Document
Information you enter in My Plan Companion is not automatically legally binding. It does not:
- Create a Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, healthcare directive, or beneficiary designation
- Appoint a legal guardian for your children or dependents
- Create any other legal instrument or contract
- Override applicable law or valid legal documents
You are responsible for completing legally required documents through appropriate professionals and processes when needed.
4. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of the information you enter
- Keeping your information current over time
- Deciding what you share and with whom
- Choosing your Trusted Contacts thoughtfully
- Safeguarding your Legacy Key and Recovery Code
- Ensuring important legal and financial documents are properly executed outside My Plan Companion where required
5. Trusted Contacts
- Naming someone in "People in My Plan" does not grant them access to your account or plan.
- Trusted Contact access must be explicitly granted by you through an invitation.
- You choose which categories of information each Trusted Contact may see.
- You choose whether each contact has Summary or Detailed access within those categories.
- Access can be changed or revoked at any time.
- Trusted Contacts receive read-only access to the information you have authorized. They cannot edit your plan.
6. Legacy Access
- A Legacy Key is an access credential that helps authorized Trusted Contacts reach the information you have shared with them.
- Accepted Trusted Contacts may use authorized Legacy Access to view the portions of your plan you have shared.
- Recovery credentials may be available to help restore access in certain situations.
- You must protect your Legacy Key and Recovery Code. Sharing them is like sharing the keys to the information you have stored.
7. Document Storage
- Secure document storage is available only on eligible paid plans.
- Uploading documents is completely optional. You can record that a document exists and where it is kept without uploading a copy.
- Storing a copy of a document in My Plan Companion does not validate, execute, notarize, or make it legally binding.
- Do not upload passwords, PINs, recovery phrases, account credentials, or other sensitive access codes. My Plan Companion is not a password manager.
8. Plans and Purchases
My Plan Companion offers three plans:
- Free — begin organizing the essentials at no cost.
- Prepared — a one-time purchase that unlocks greater capacity and additional features.
- Premium — a one-time purchase that unlocks the highest capacity and deepest features.
Paid plans are one-time purchases that provide lifetime access to the purchased plan, subject to these Terms. Feature availability may evolve over time. Purchasing a plan does not guarantee access to features that have not yet been released.
9. Refunds
- A standard 7-calendar-day refund-request window applies to each purchase.
- Submitting a refund request does not guarantee approval. Each request is reviewed individually.
- Substantial use of the purchased features may affect eligibility where legally permitted.
- Duplicate charges, payment errors, and verified technical issues may receive separate consideration.
- Purchasing an upgrade does not restart the refund-request window for an earlier purchase.
10. Availability and Changes
We may update or modify service functionality, features, policies, and supported integrations from time to time. While we strive to provide a reliable service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes where appropriate.
